The Forge is a dream space – literally. After a long absence from metal crafting, owner and artist Mitch Kernodle eased back into designing and creating artistic and functional metal work with his creation of Eagle River Forge. Having attended the Hogansville Hummingbird Festival and after meeting many of the local artists and entrepreneurs, Mitch and his wife Jan found a building in “the town of friendly people” to establish a premier metal shop.
Currently The Forge is a fully operational and well-equipped blacksmithing and fabrication shop incorporating tools from forges and anvils to CNC plasma tables. The fabrication and blacksmithing products produced by Eagle River Forge include driveway entrance gates, custom handrails, custom showpieces like fireplace screens, wine cabinets and dining room tables, and artwork from 20-foot sculptures to industrial chandeliers. Welding repairs, prototypes and structural fabrication are also constantly coming through the doors and are always welcome.
To further enhance the experiences and hidden talents of those who visit The Forge, we offer hands-on workshops and classes to show the different avenues that metal work can take you. From delicate jewelry to giant sculptures.
It was always the mission of Eagle River Forge to establish a space where people could dream – a dream space – where artists could gather, learn, show their wares and build all their experiences at The Forge into their own art. Eventually The Forge will expand past just blacksmithing and metal work to adding other artist studios, a large showroom space and will even include such basic life skills classes as farm to table cooking and canning. The idea of artists inspiring one another in a multitude of mediums of creativity is why Eagle River Forge exists.
At Eagle River Forge, it’s all possible!
